A Sèvres plate probably from a service acquired by John FitzGibbon, circa 1787

Decorated by Michel-Gabriel Commelin with a rose spray on a maroon ground surrounded by gilt and floral borders, the rim with an elaborate maroon-ground border reserved with floral and foliate garlands and sprays within gilt dentil borders enclosing a dotted ribbon band on a gilt ground around the edge of the well, 24.3cm across, interlaced LL monogram enclosing date letter KK, and painter's mark "cm" in blue, gilder's mark "2000" for Henry-Francois Vincent, incised 24 (restored small hole in edge of well, small chip to footrim)
