Acquired by William Robert, 3rd Duke of Leinster, on 21 October 1775

The service was purchased by the Duke of Leinster in 1775 which may have been due to his upcoming marriage on 7 November 1775. See David Peters, Sèvres Plates and Services of the 18th Century, 2005, revised edition 2015, vol. III, no.75-11, for a full discussion of the service.

A large number of pieces from the service are now at Castledown House in Ireland.
