Footnotes
Autumn/Winter 1981 was Westwood and McLaren's debut runway and was retrospectively dubbed the 'Pirate' collection. It informed the aesthetic of The Worlds End Boutique with its pirate's galleon and ship features.
The collection was filled with romantic looks in gold, orange, and yellow which burst onto the London fashion scene, ensuring its place in the house's history of influence.
Furthermore, it established Westwood as a pioneering figure in British fashion.
