The case surmounted by a decorated brass carrying handle over an oval observation window and repeat button to a moulded top, with shaped bevelled glass panels to the sides and back, on a moulded base. The underside fitted with a strike selection lever offering three options. The 3 inch white enamel Roman and Arabic dial over an alarm subsidiary, all with blued steel hands. The grande sonnerie movement with English-style lever platform escapement striking the hours and the quarters on a pair of blued steel gongs mounted to the backplate, signed V.R. Breveté Paris and numbered 110880, the alarm working on the same gongs and wound via the top left section. Currently ticking. 20cms (8 inches) high.
