A good late 19th/early 20th century French patinated- and gilt-bronze and rouge marble mantel clock

Breguet, Paris No.3278
The signed and numbered 6 inch Roman and Arabic (restored) dial with pierced hands set in a drum shaped case cradled by a partially draped reclining figure of Ceres, a garland and wheat sheaf in her hair, seated on a tasselled cushion on a massive shaped rouge griotte marble base further set with ormolu beading and good floral scroll mounts to an acanthus cast ormolu base on squat ball feet. The rectangular movement with anchor escapement striking on a bell, signed and numbered Breguet, 3278 66cms (2ft 2ins) high, 75cms (2ft 6ins) wide.
