A good late 18th century Louis XVI ormolu striking mantel clock

Cronier A Paris
The case with a large reading cherub resting over a globe and book, framed by olive leaf garlands and set upon a moulded and shaped base, all raised on four turned feet. The 4.5 inch white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, pierced gilt hands, and offset winding squares, signed to the centre Cronier A Paris. The movement with circular plates, silk suspension, and striking the hours and half-hours on a polished bell mounted to the backplate via a star countwheel. Currently ticking and striking. 32cms (12.5ins) high.
