A late 18th century French Louis XVI ormolu striking mantel clock

L. Musson à Paris
The case surmounted by a pair of doves above military trophies, with a pair of seated cherubs bearing arms upon a decorated base with laurel wreath mounts, all further raised on a later wooden base with applied ormolu mounts. The 4.5-inch white enamel dial with Roman numerals and Arabic five-minute markers, signed in the centre L. Mufson à Paris, with gilt brass hands. The twin-train movement powered by going barrels, striking the hours on a large polished bell mounted to the back plate via a star count wheel, with a silk suspension pendulum, currently ticking and striking. 38cms (15ins) high.
