A good mid 19th century ebonised striking table clock

Thwaites and Reed, Clerkenwell, London. The movement stamped on the front plate, number 10684
The rectangular case with raised bevelled glass inspection panel to the top, over glazed sides on an ogee moulded plinth base and squat bun feet. The signed silvered Roman dial with good open-heart shaped hands framed by a minute track, engraved foliage to the corners and an angled sight ring. The substantial fusee movement (on wires) with anchor escapement and rack striking on a gong, the gong block stamped to the side J 5 D. Ticking and striking. 33cms (13ins) high.
