Footnotes
Emanuele Pantanella was an Italian designer active in the mid-20th century, known for his sculptural approach to accessory design that combined natural materials and semi-precious stones. His works often blur the boundary between jewellery and object d'art.
A similar clutch bag by Pantanella is held in the collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (accession no. 2001.613).
