Each circular, set on a tall, splayed foot, bearing a red-lacquer ground, the large cup decorated on the interior with Mount Fuji and a hawk perched on a pine bough, the underside with a leafy branch of eggplants, all in gold and silver takamaki-e and kirikane; the set of three cups of graduated size decorated on the interior with various scenes of birds and flowers in inlays of shell, colored lacquer, and coral, the undersides all decorated as chrysanthemum blossoms in two shades of gold takamaki-e
