The rectangular kobako (small box) of wood covered in black lacquer, decorated in kinma-nuri (incised and filled colored lacquer) with floral motifs within a pattern of intersecting parallel lines
With a wood tomobako storage box inscribed Kinma kobako (Kinma small box)

Thought to have been a native of Takamatsu, Kagawa Province, Nosu Masami specialized in several of the local lacquer techniques developed during the nineteenth century by Tamakaji Zokoku, who combined Japanese, Chinese, and Southeast Asian craft traditions.
