A .28 Percussion Robbins & Lawrence Patent Five-Shot Pepperbox Revolver
No. 3239/3235, Circa 1851-54

With sighted fluted barrel-block stamped on the ribs 'ROBBINS & LAWRENCE CO.', 'WINDSOR.VT', and 'PATENT. 1849.', and unscrewing to allow loading into the hinged tip-down breech, the latter decorated with scrolling foliage and secured by a spring-catch also forming the back-sight, action (mainspring incomplete) decorated en suite with the breech section, ring cocking-trigger and firing trigger, disengaging button at the foliate scroll engraved butt, incorrectly numbered 3239 beneath, internally numbered 3235, and figured rounded grips
