With blued two-stage barrels each inlaid with a gold line at the turned muzzle and with gold foliage behind, turned girdles each chiselled with a band of foliage, octagonal breeches with gold inscription 'DEFENSA DMI DUENO' and with gold-lined maker's stamp, gold-lined touch-holes, blued tangs each with further designs of foliage in gold, blued flat locks inscribed 'BALLESTER' and with finely engraved fences and steels, blued pans, highly figured full stocks each carved in relief with foliate scrolls behind the barrel tang, finely engraved steel mounts comprising side-plates each chiselled with a lion passant against a gilt ground, the forepaw resting on the lock retaining screw and with foliage behind, spurred pommels each chiselled with martial trophies and a Classical figure against a gilt ground, trigger-guards each decorated with foliage on the bow and with an eagle perched on the finial, turned ramrod-pipes en suite, original horn-tipped wooden ramrods, and retaining much of their original finish (2)
