Three Brass-Hilted Hunting Hangers

Late 17th/Early 18th Century
The first with slightly curved blade double-edged towards the point, saw-backed along most of its length and incised with running wolf mark on both sides, the forte on both sides etched with profile faces amidst foliage, brass hilt comprising shell-guard cast and chased with a hunting scene, quillon block with a deer on one side, a hound on the other, knuckle-guard, pommel with a hound chasing a hare, button, and old wooden grip with remains of fishskin covering; the second with fullered blade incised with crescent moon mark and indistinctly dated 1691, brass hilt comprising down-bent quillon, knuckle-guard, pommel and button, and natural staghorn grip; the last of similar form with wooden grip (3)
