An Irish 18-Bore Flintlock Holster Pistol
By Michael Ransford Of Dublin, Mid-18th Century

With rebrowned two-stage barrel, border engraved tang, signed border engraved rounded lock, figured full stock (old repairs) carved with a shell behind the barrel tang, brass mounts comprising pierced foliate side-plate, vacant escutcheon, trigger-guard with foliate finial and engraved with a flower-head on the bow, horned grotesque-mask butt-cap, and later ramrod, Ransford's barrelsmith's mark and indistinct proof marks
