The first with turn-off cannon barrel, border engraved action signed on a scroll within foliage on each side, foliate engraved tang, iron trigger-guard engraved with a flower-head on the bow, figured rounded butt inlaid with silver wire scrollwork and flower-heads, and silver butt-cap cast and chased with a lion and rampart, Tower private proof marks; the second with rifled barrel fitted with a sprung bayonet beneath, the action indistinctly signed (worn overall), Birmingham proof marks (2)
