The First Signed P.D.L, Probably For P.D. Lüneschloss Of Solingen, Both Late 19th Century
The first with tapering blade etched and gilt with martial trophies against a blued ground along half of its length, the ricasso etched with manufacturer's initials on one side, ormolu hilt with plumed helmet pommel, and mother-of-pearl grips; the second with slender blade of triangular section, the forte with traces of etched foliage and martial trophies, ormolu hilt with side-guard cast and chased with crowned crossed bugles issuing foliage, pommel with flower-heads and a crown-shaped button, mother-of-pearl grips, and sword-knot (2)
