A Pair Of 12-Bore Percussion Box-Lock Belt Pistols
By Williams & Powell, Liverpool, Mid-19th Century

With stout twist octagonal sighted barrels each signed in capitals along the top flat, engraved around the muzzle and stamped with Hyderabad inventory number on the bottom flat, lightly engraved breeches, border engraved tang-plates, actions, dolphin hammers and trigger-guards all decorated with scrolling foliage, the first each with back-sight, finely chequered rounded butts (one with old split) each with fluted pommel (old bruising), vacant white-metal escutcheons, and steel belt hooks (some old wear), Birmingham proof marks (2)
