Footnotes

'Portrait of Sinatra – Forty Songs from the Life of a Man' is a 1977 compilation album by Frank Sinatra that consisted of 40 songs that were recorded for Reprise Records. It became Sinatra's fourth album to top the British charts.

Provenance:
Offered by a relative of Michael Noakes, the artist for the album cover.
Michael Noakes (1933–2018) was a renowned British portrait painter celebrated for his vivid and lifelike depictions of prominent figures. Over his distinguished career, he painted members of the British royal family, politicians, and cultural icons, including Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, and Margaret Thatcher. A member of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, Noakes combined technical precision with a keen psychological insight, capturing both the likeness and character of his subjects. His work remains an important contribution to contemporary British portraiture.
