Footnotes

The print Truth and Falsehood is prominently featured at the beginning of Marianne Faithfull, My Place (Paris), a short film directed by Barbara Anastacio for Nowness. Filmed in Faithfull's Paris apartment, the piece offers an intimate glimpse into her private world. The artwork appears on screen at approximately 0:17 seconds.

The inscription on the lower left of 'Falsehood I' appears to reference 'Dogme et Rituel de la Haute Magie' by Éliphas Lévi. The book holds a significant place in the study of occult magic and religion, with Lévi proposing that magic occupies the space between science and religion.

Marianne was friends with William Mora and purchased the diptych from his gallery in Melbourne, Australia.
