Silver Tea Set

Joel Sayre (1778-1818), New York, New York, c. 1800

Set of three seamed gadroon-molded pieces with reeded bands applied to rim and base, raised on slush-cast ball feet, each impressed "J. Sayre" in conforming reserve on underside, including:

one teapot with hinged lid and ebonized wood handle, weighing approx. 645.20 grams; wd. 12, dp. 6, ht. 7 in.

one sugar bowl with friction-seal lid, weighing approx. 476.10 grams; wd. 9, dp. 5, ht. 6 3/4 in.

one milk pitcher, weighing approx. 264.50 grams; wd. 6 1/2, dp. 3 1/2, ht. 5 5/8 in.

Together with one similar, unmarked bowl on pedestal base, weighing approx. 461.50 grams; diam. 6 5/8, ht. 5 1/4 in.
