Assembled cast iron coin bank with spring mechanism opening the lion's mouth as the adult monkey throws a coin and the baby on its back lifts, retaining old paint, glass eyes, and coin box plate, the base impressed "PAT JULY 17 83" for U.S. Patent no. 281,377, wd. 9 1/2, dp. 3 3/4, ht. 8 3/8 in.
