North America and England, 18th-early 20th century
One 18th-century red velvet cap embellished with cross-stitched metallic thread border and coiled metal tassel.
One pair of 18th-century silk and linen breeches.
One early 20th-century cotton twill button-down shirt with printed mark of costume manufacturer Joseph C. Fischer & Son of New York and Philadelphia, as well as two stamped marks from the Springfield, Massachusetts, costumer Herman Buckholz.
One late 19th-century full-bottomed barrister's wig with looped pile stitched on webbing of silk ribbon reinforced with steel ribbing, retains label inscribed "P.F. O'Malley Esq'r" on headband.
One early 20th-century horse hair, linen, cotton, and silk barrister's wig, constructed with looped pile and three sets of curls terminating in two tails at back, the webbed interior bearing patent label of Ravenscroft Law Wig and Robe Makers of Lincolns Inn Fields, London, as well as a label inscribed "HT. Grubbin Esq'r" in ink, includes a tin display stand.
