Gilded Sheet Metal Padlock Trade Sign
advertising P. & F. Corbin Co. of New Britain, Connecticut, c. 1930
Hollow-molded sheet metal, possibly aluminum, solder-joined to form a large padlock, the case impressed on one side with 19th-century Corbin logo and with Corbin logo adopted circa 1925 on the reverse, the shackle reading "NEW BRITAIN, CONN. U.S.A.", retaining old bronze paint under later gold leaf and paint surface, includes custom wall mount for hanging by two iron rings inserted in top of shackle, wd. 18, dp. 2 1/2, ht. 23 1/2 in.
