A 1746 CONCORD, MASSACHUSETTS, CARVED POWDER HORN.

The cream-colored horn with faceted spout carved with floral motifs, geometric patterns and fish along with the inscription "IOHN DOOD OF CONCORD MAY 24 1746/AND IF I LOOS AND YOU/IT FIND RETVN TO MEE/FOR IT IS MINE", the base with flat plug and the initials "ID" formed of white glass beads, (originally had a tab at the back of the horn for a suspension cord).
Overall lg. 12 1/2 in.
