A FRENCH REVOLUTION-ERA "EGALITE/LIBERTE" BRONZE CANNON,
late 18th century.

The barrel with flaring muzzle, stepped above the trunnions and chased vent field above the molded cascabel, the top of the barrel engraved "AN" and "Egalite/Liberte" within a rectangular frame, the right trunnion marked "121" and the left trunnion with indistinct markings, the cascabel with very worn foundry markings.
Bore dia. 2 in., overall lg. 40 1/4 in.
