A SPANISH/SPANISH COLONIAL CUP HILT BROADSWORD.
18th century.

The deep iron cup hilt in double clamshell form with fine branches connecting to the cross bar and integral knuckle bow, disk pommel on a copper wire wrapped grip' straight double-edge blade with single narrow fuller marked "GIO KNEGT" and "IN SOLINGEN."
Overall lg. 43 in.
