AN L.C. SMITH HAMMERLESS GRADE 2 SIDE BY SIDE 12 GAUGE SHOTGUN,
Syracuse, New York, late 1880s.

Serial number 18268, Damascus barrels marked "L.C. SMITH, MAKER, SYRACUSE, N.Y." and "DAMASCUS STEEL BARRELS." with textured rib; lock plates decorated with foliate scroll engraving; walnut stock with checkered pistol grip wrist, (Damascus patterning is quite bold; frame/lock plates toned to mottled gray/brown; stock has dings, dents, and scratches, bores are bright, action functions properly, missing right firing pin).
Barrel lg. 30, lg. of pull 14, overall lg. 46 3/8 in.

Minimum left barrel wall thickness .053 in.
Minimum right barrel wall thickness .050 in.
Left choke .720 in.
