A JAPANESE ARISAKA TYPE 38 BOLT ACTION CARBINE.
Tokyo/Kokura arsenal, first half of the 20th century.

Serial number 96859, 6.5mm Arisaka caliber, blued steel barrel and receiver with intact chrysanthemum, hard wood stock.
Barrel lg. 19 1/4, overall lg. 38 in.

Condition: Lacking dust cover, lacking barrel retaining spring, front sight edges bent, butt with wood repair on the bottom, frosty bore with strong rifling, action functions properly.
