AN AUSTRALIAN PATTERN 1943 MACHETE BAYONET,
c. 1943.

Handle has blued steel pommel with spring catch marked "3899", wood grip panels marked "SLAZ42" and "SLAZ43"; bolo-style blued blade with false edge at the tip and marked with a broad arrow on the ricasso; green canvas scabbard marked on the back "1944."
Blade lg. 11 1/4, overall lg. 16 in.

Condition: Bayonet is in excellent overall condition with only minor evidence of wear.
