A 7TH CAVALRY SERIAL NUMBER RANGE SPRINGFIELD U.S. MODEL 1873 TRAPDOOR CARBINE,
1874.

Serial number 19316, .45-70 caliber, round barrel with adjustable rear ladder sight, the loading door marked "MODEL/1873/US" and the frame marked "042"; flat lock plate with rounded tail marked in front of hammer with an spread wing eagle and "U.S./SPRINGFIELD/1873"; walnut stock with Erskine S. Allen's "ESA" cartouche on the left side; steel furniture with butt plate tang marked "US."
Barrel lg. 22, overall lg. 41 1/4 in.

Condition: Barrel and loading door toned to mottled brown, lock toned to gray, stock has scattered dings and dents, furniture toned to brown, bore has overall light to moderate pitting but rifling is visible, action functions properly.
