A POSSIBLE U.S. MODEL 1842 MUSKET BAYONET,

The socket with locking ring and knuckle bow integrally forged with the yataghan single-edge blade with false edge at the tip and single wide fuller the back of the blade with deep groove, unmarked.
Blade lg. 17 1/2, overall lg. 20 1/8 in.
Condition: Bayonet is mostly bright with scattered light gray toning and associated light pitting.
