A U.S. MODEL 1841 MISSISSIPPI RIFLE SNELL PATTERN BAYONET AND SCABBARD,
1855.

The brass handle with ribbed grip and hinged muzzle ring, the cross guard with thumb screw and quillon marked "C35"; yataghan-style single-edge blade with false edge at the tip and single wide fuller; black leather scabbard with brass throat and tip.
Blade lg. 22 3/8, overall lg. 27 1/4 in.

Condition: Brass toned to dark yellow, muzzle ring and thumb screw functions properly; blade toned to mottle gray with light overall pitting; scabbard is in good overall condition with minor dents on the brass fittings.
