A U.S. HORSTMANN & SONS SWORD BAYONET AND SCABBARD,
W.H. Horstmann & Sons, Philadelphia, c. 1835.

Smooth brass handle with offset socket, marked "20" near the brass cross guard; straight single-edge blade with false edge at the tip and single wide fuller, the ricasso with crowned figure mark; black leather scabbard with brass mounts, the throat marked on the back "W.H. HORSTMANN/& SONS."
Blade lg. 20 1/2, overall lg. 26 5/8 in.

Condition: Brass toned to deep yellow; blade is mostly bright with spots of gray toning; scabbard is in good overall condition, brass toned to deep yellow and with a few shallow dents.
