A CONFEDERATE LEECH & RIGDON DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN BAYONET,
Greensboro, Georgia, c. 1863.

The handle with wood grip and brass pommel with spring catch, cross guard with curved quillons and loop to fit over the muzzle; straight single-edge Bowie-type blade marked on the ricasso "LEECH & RIGDON/GREENSBORO GA."
Blade lg. 11 5/8, overall lg. 16 in.

Condition: Brass is toned to dark yellow and has scattered dings and dents, grip has light scratches and minor shrinkage cracks; blade is toned to gray/brown, surface has scattered dents, edge has scattered nicks.
