A SNIDER ENFIELD MKII** RIFLE FOR CANADA,
c. 1864.

36 1/2 in., .577 Snider caliber, round barrel with adjustable rear sight and various proof and inspector's marks at the breech, hinged breech with Dominion of Canada markings on the top; flat lock plate with rounded tail marked with a crown over "VR" and in front of the cock with a crown over broad arrow mark over "1864/ENFIELD"; walnut stock, the left side of the butt marked "DC" within a diamond and the right side of the butt with "1863" cartouche; brass furniture and iron bands, sling swivels, no rammer.
Overall lg. 55 1/4 in.

Condition: Barrel toned to brown, breech opens freely; lock toned to mottled gray/brown; stock has scattered dings, dents and scratches; brass furniture toned to deep yellow; bore has scattered very light pitting and sharp rifling, action functions properly.
