A EUROPEAN CAVALRY SABER,
late 18th/early 19th century.
late 18th/early 19th century.
Iron hilt with narrow counter-guard and knuckle bow connecting to an iron pommel cap with back strap and horn grip; slightly curved single edge blade with false edge at the tip and single wide fuller and deep cutler's mark on the left ricasso.
Blade lg. 30 3/8, overall lg. 35 1/2 in.
Condition: Hilt and blade have overall oxidation and moderate pitting, horn grip has a small area of damage, blade tip is blunt, edge has a few shallow nicks.
