A FRENCH MODEL 1777 CAVALRY PISTOL,
St. Etienne, c. 1779-92.

.73 caliber round barrel with traces of proof marks on the left side of the breech; brass frame with crown over "L" between the pan and cock, "St. Etienne" engraved below the cock; walnut stock, brass butt cap and iron back strap, iron rammer with button head.
Barrel lg. 7 1/2, overall lg. 13 1/4 in.

Condition: Iron has been cleaned and has overall fine pitting; brass toned to yellow, stock has scattered dings and dents; missing belt hook, rammer has a brazed repair; mainspring broken or missing.
