The head with round striking surface and long curved spike on a tapering iron haft with twisted wire grip.
Overall lg. 21 3/8 in.

Note
German horseman hammers of this type are generally associated with the former Saxon armories in Dresden and a number of nearly identical examples have been sold from that collection. These hammers were carried by armored cavalry for close-quarter combat.
