Due to the bare foot and lack of sandal it seems most likely that the above leg came from a naked statue of either a god or athlete. For a statue leg of similar proportions, cf. M. Comstock and C. Vermeule, Greek, Etruscan and Roman Bronzes, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, 1971, p. 154, fig. 176A.
