VIII.
Three dimensional sculptures of women are less commonly depicted wearing the toga, a garment more typically reserved for men, cf. H. Goette, Studien zu römischen Togadarstellungen, Mainz, 1990, p. 158f.
The ancient head added to the present statue shows the idealised features of a goddess, replacing the original likely portrait head of an individual.
