An original artwork by George Soper (1870-1872) depicting Captain Scott during the "Discovery" expedition of 1901-1904. The picture was reprinted in a magazine, most probably The Graphic captioned "The Return of Captain Scott after Trekking by Sledge to the Most Southernly Point Ever Reached. Captain Scott's Antarctic Expedition and its Relief by the "Morning", noting the image taken "From a photograph taken by a Member of the Antarctic Relief Expedition". The magazine image is viewable on the Dundee Heritage Trust website.
