"I believe all children deserve to be protected and supported with love and care to live their life to be who they are. I will continue to support The Laurel Foundation's vision, purpose and programs." -Peter Carr

Artist Statement: Peter Carr is a long time Los Angeles resident currently residing in Co. Galway, Ireland. After finishing college at UCLA, Peter had a successful 32-year career in the corporate world. He retired at the end of 2017 to pursue his lifelong passion for making art full time. Peter has been making art his entire life and has been seriously producing art for over 30 years. He has been in several group art shows and at the end of 2022, he had his first solo at CadFab Creative and a subsequent two-person show at CadFab Creative from September to December 2023. Peter's art can be best described as hard-edge, geometric, and abstract. He favors bold colors in oil, gouache, watercolor, and pastel. He mills, builds and fabricates his structures, surfaces and custom frames. His artwork and the themes he explores are inspired by his love of science, mathematics, music, poetry, spirituality, surfing, and nature. His artwork has been profoundly influenced by his youth in Hawai'i during the 60's; his adolescent and teen years in the 70's in the post hippy, surfing and art renaissance of Carmel, CA; and his college and post college years in the go-go surf punk rock 80's in Los Angeles.
