A DEHUA BLANC DE CHINE FIGURE OF A FEMALE IMMORTAL

Possibly by Su Xuejin (1869-1919), boji yuren stamped mark
The stately Daoist figure standing on a rocky outcropping in wind-swept robes holding a covered amphora as she gazes toward a tall crane holding a lingzhi in its beak, the elegant immortal captured with an elaborate chignon embellished with a phoenix hairpin and peony blossom, a double-gourd Dehua seal and a Boji yuren square seal impressed in the back of her robe.
15 1/4in (38.7cm) high (stand).

For another model attributed to Su Xuejin, with close parallels in the headdress, robes and modelling in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Magu with deer, illustrated on the museum's website, accession number 34.13.
