A RARE BLUE AND WHITE PEAR-SHAPED 'DRAGON' VASE, YUHUCHUNPING

Yuan Dynasty
The low-set slender body tapering gracefully inward to a narrow neck and everted rim, brilliantly painted in rich cobalt blue with a dynamic three-claw dragon, its scaly body and out-stretched claws wrapped around the surface of the vessel amidst flame-shaped clouds as he seeks the elusive precious jewel, the rim painted with a band of undulating scrolls, the whole set off against a light bluish-white ground.
