A FINE WHITE AND PALE-RUSSET JADE 'DRAGONS AND CLOUDS' SNUFF BOTTLE

1750-1820
Carefully carved following the natural swelling pebble shape to form a bottle of rounded rectangular outline, the plain russet skin used on three sides and removed on one narrow edge where a horned three-clawed dragon amidst clouds is carved in low relief, its head extending to one main side, below which a coiling chilong is carved in high relief, its back and tail forming the rounded oval foot ring.
2 1/2in (6.3cm), high, stopper
