A SUPERB BEEHIVE-SHAPED ARCHAISTIC CELADON JADE 'DRAGONS' JARLET BOTTLE

1740-1800
The squat globular jarlet with a raised shoulder collar, waisted neck, and everted rim and a simple shallowly cut circular base, the sides carved in an archaistic style in a continuous band around the body with two striding phoenix-headed, one-clawed, bifurcated-tailed dragons, the fur on their legs and short wings or spurs neatly delineated, the stone of a mostly even celadon tone and with a gray vein and small inclusions to one side.
