Footnotes

清 墨色百子紋織錦緞門簾成對

The many symbols of fertility and prosperity on this pair of door hangings indicate that they were likely made for the matriarch's living quarter. Textile door hangings added insulation to the interior and often do not survive after years of use and exposing to the elements.
