This elegant Tibetan dagger with its original iron blade, its hilt and scabbard in repoussé gilt copper alloy, decorated openwork of flower and foliate motifs, including Dharmachakra symbol at the bottom of the scabbard. The scabbard is particularly remarkable, illustrating a pair of dragons flanking the head of a Makara, a mythological creature that often serves as a protective guardian in Tibetan iconography.
