Depicted in his Nirmanakaya manifestation, Amoghasiddhi is seated in dhayasana upon a double lotus throne with a beaded top rim. His right hand is raised in the abhaya mudra, a gesture of fearlessness and reassurance. In his left hand, he gently cradles an alms bowl, signifying renunciation and the acceptance of spiritual sustenance. Incised geometrical patterns decorate the hem of his robes and sanghati. While originally attributed to the 15th-16th century (Neven, p. 126), certain stylistic features invite comparison with works from earlier periods influenced by Pala prototypes. A Pala stylistic trait is especially evident in the treatment of the double lotus base, where petals are double-bordered and round as well as the pearl-like beading of the top rim, see a Pala 11th-12th century figure of Avalokiteshvara Padmapani sold at Bonhams, 3 October 2017, lot 1. His wide-set almond shaped eyes, broad face and plump lips as well as the robust silhouette further align it with earlier Pala derived idioms adopted in Tibet during this period, seen in a 13th century Tibetan figure of Shakyamuni (HAR no. 57297).
